- agree as to which person should be the petitioner; remember, the person chosen should be the one who will follow through and complete the Divorce if it is uncontested and the respondent does not respond
- use the legal names on the paperwork, nicknames will not work
- make sure to consult with one of our experienced Divorce Attorneys so that you are sure as to your issues
- service is mandatory; if your spouse is not cooperative then enlist another adult or a process server to do the service
- once the spouse is served, he/she has 30 days to respond; make sure to enter a ‘default‘ if the spouse has not responded after the 30 days
- if your spouse has responded, you will be in a contested Divorce so file for a trial date as soon as possible as it takes many months to secure one
