Divorce-Attorney-FeesGetting a divorce can be very stressful, especially when couples consider the cost. Although the cost of divorce in California can range, most couples today want an alternative to the typical hourly/retainer fee structure of most lawyers. Legal Action Workshop offers a flat fee model for divorce which is very affordable. A flat fee model works for most people.

The fees that Divorce Attorneys charge range from low flat fees (those of Legal Action Workshop) to retainers of as much as $10,000 and hourly rates from $200 to $700 plus.Due to the range of fees it’s difficult to determine which Divorce Lawyer is best for you. The main qualities that you want to look for are experience, approach to the case and fees.

If your Divorce is one in which there are no issues i.e. no spousal support, children or property, then a flat fee lawyer would be ideal as your fees would be very low. Likewise, if you have an ‘uncontested divorce’, i.e. you and your spouse agree on the issues that you have, a flat fee lawyer would also be appropriate since he/she could prepare a Marital Settlement Agreement which would, in most cases, avoid a court appearance.

In contrast, if you and your spouse do not agree on your issues and your divorce becomes contested (your spouse responds when served) then you need to weigh the advantages and disadvantages of using a flat fee Divorce Lawyer. The advantages are that you limit your costs and, with an experienced Attorney, you can still get competent help. However, if you case is very complex with substantial assets, your divorce may warrant full representation.

If I decide to be divorce, but I don’t want nothing from him, just to leave. How much it will cost me. We don’t have children together. I want like a quick divorce. He has his house. Like I said I just want to leave but I don’t want financial support or part of his house, or don’t know how you guys do it. I just want divorce period.

      Dina:
A divorce takes a minimum of 6 months and 1 day from the date of service. Is your spouse cooperative? It’s fine if you do not want anything from him–that would be part of the petition. Do you have a house, condo or retirement fund? Our fees are either $625 or $899 plus the filing fee (this could be waived by the court based on your income and other factors). Please call me @ 818-630-5503 to discuss.

Hi. How much would it be if I want a divorce? A quick one! He has no property and no money at all. I don’t care about that either! We have one baby! He’s almost 2 in a few months! Reason for why I want a divorce is… He’s cheating. Very controlling. My mental and emotional aspects are being affected already! He even sometimes refuse or complain to provide my baby’s need tho yes he does buy them but complained so much! And oh he denied my baby as his too when he was 2 weeks old saying it!’s not his child just cause his eyes were changing colors! For 2 weeks he is been bothering me for that and later on said he was joking! So was he joking for 2 weeks? I don’t think so. Anyway, I hope I get an answer! Thank you. Cause I want to leave. Start my life and prioritize myself and my baby only, for now! Cause I’m so stuck been stuck for 2 years now. Thanks hope it can he answer.
